Jay M. Fisher earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Emory University and a law degree from Duke University. Fisher began his legal career practicing transactional law and general civil litigation before transitioning to consumer advocacy representing plaintiffs, and has successfully represented well over 1,000 clients.
Fisher developed his skills as an advisor, counselor, advocate and negotiator representing clients against the nation’s most powerful multi-billion dollar insurance companies. He now uses his skills to help those directly and indirectly affected by the BP oil spill navigate the Deepwater Horizon Court-Supervised Settlement Program.
In addition to practicing law, Fisher is President of MJ Sports Management, a firm that represents NFL athletes. He has utilized his business education and dispute resolution skills to reach lucrative player contract agreements for his clients. In addition, Fisher uses his finance and economics skills as a partner in Vantage Capital Consultants, a company that helps former plaintiffs facing economic difficulties make adjustments to or sell their structured settlement or annuity.
Fisher was named in Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in the State of Florida for the past three consecutive years. He is currently a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association and the American Association for Justice, and is a Contract Advisor with the NFL Players Association. Fisher enjoys giving back to his community and contributes his time and resources to organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the National Brain Tumor Society, and the Congregation of Reform Judaism. Fisher and his firm also support Florida Citrus Sports, New Hope for Kids, The Boys and Girls Club, among many others.
Outside of the office, Fisher enjoys spending time with his wife, Wendy, and their two sons, Scott and Jack. Fisher is an avid sports fan and often pretends to have a golf game.
